Community Alert: Residential Burglary Investigation

Police are appealing for information following a burglary at a residential property.

The occupants left their home at approximately 8:00pm on Tuesday 11th August 2026, ensuring the property was secure and locked. Upon returning at around 12:10am, they discovered that the rear patio door had been smashed, allowing offenders to gain entry.

An untidy search of the property was carried out and a quantity of Asian gold jewellery, including bangles and a gold necklace, along with a significant amount of cash, were stolen.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who:

Saw any suspicious activity in the area between 8:00pm and 10:00pm on 11 August 2026.

Noticed an unfamiliar vehicle parked nearby.

Has CCTV, doorbell, dashcam, or other footage that may have captured the vehicle or individuals involved.

Has been offered Asian gold jewellery for sale in suspicious circumstances.

Crime Prevention Advice

Ensure all doors and windows are secure before leaving your property.

Consider installing security lighting, alarms, and CCTV systems.

Store high-value jewellery and cash in a secure safe where possible.

Mark and photograph valuable property to assist identification and recovery.
